Cianfrone’s shootout goal gives Steelheads win

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Bryson Cianfrone scored the winning shootout goal as the Mississauga Steelheads beat the Sudbury Wolves 5-4 in Sunday’s lone Ontario Hockey League game.

Sam Babintsev also scored in the shootout for Mississauga, while Sudbury missed on both its attempts.

Nathan Bastian led Mississauga offensively in regulation with two goals and an assist.

Jimmy Lodge and Cody Thompson also scored for the Steelheads (16-16-1).

Ivan Kashtanov had a goal and two assists for the Wolves (7-23-2).

Jacob Harris, Matt Schmalz and Kyle Capobianco had Sudbury’s other goals.

Spencer Martin and Cameron Zanussi combined for 35 saves in regulation and overtime for Mississauga.

Samuel Tanguay stopped 30 shots for Sudbury.
