Bozon’s pair lifts Blazers over Thunderbirds

KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Tim Bozon had a pair of goals as Kamloops downed Seattle.

Chase Souto also scored for the Blazers (4-7-0), while Bolton Pouliot stopped 31 shots.

Shea Theodore was the lone scorer for the Thunderbirds (8-3-0). Justin Myles turned aside 25 shots Kamloops.

Wheat Kings 3, Warriors 2 (OT)

The Brandon Wheat Kings’ offence revolved around Taylor Cooper on Wednesday.

Cooper scored twice — including the overtime winner — as Brandon edged the Moose Jaw Warriors 3-2.

Captain Ryan Pulock scored with six seconds left in the third period to force the extra period for the Wheat Kings (6-5-0), and Cooper scored his second of the night 1:51 into overtime for the win.

Curtis Honey made 30 saves to earn the victory.

Jack Rodewald and Bryson Gore supplied the offence for Moose Jaw (4-5-3), while Justin Paulic stopped 34 shots.

Brandon could not score on its two power plays, while Gore’s first-period goal was the only time the Warriors scored on their five man advantages.

Winterhawks 4, Americans 1

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Winterhawks scored three times in the third period to skate past Tri-City.

Adam Rossignol’s goal 4:14 into the third period stood as the winner for Portland (5-3-1). Presten Kopeck and Oliver Bjorkstrand — into an empty net –also scored in the third, while Brendan Leipsic had a goal in the first period. Brendan Burke made 29 saves for the win.

Eric Comrie stopped 44 of 47 shots for the Americans (4-7-1). Philip Tot had the only goal for Tri-City.

Rockets 6, Hurricanes 0

KELOWNA, B.C. — Jordon Cooke made 26 saves as the Rockets shut out Lethbridge.

Riley Stadel had a hat trick and an assist for Kelowna (6-1-2), while Ryan Olsen, Tyrell Goulbourne and Tyson Baillie also scored.

Corbin Boes stopped 56 shots for the Hurricanes (1-9-1).

Chiefs 5, Broncos 1

SPOKANE, Wash. — Mike Aviani and Mitch Holmberg had two goals and two assists each as the Chiefs skated past Swift Current.

Dominic Zwerger also scored for Spokane (9-2-0) and Eric Williams made 26 saves.

Tanner LeSann was the lone scorer for the Broncos (6-4-1). Eetu Laurikainen turned aside 28 shots.

Royals 5, Cougars 4

VICTORIA — Logan Nelson’s third-period goal stood as the winner as the Royals edged Prince George.

Tyler Soy, Austin Carroll, Brandon Fushimi and Luke Harrison rounded out the attack for Victoria (8-5-0). Patrik Polivka made 24 saves for the win.

Chase Witala scored and added two assists for the Cougars (5-6-1), while Jansen Harkins, Troy Bourke and Marc McNulty also found the back of the net. Brett Zarowny started in net for Prince George, stopping 11 of 14 shots in 13:37 of work. Ty Edmonds turned aside 12 of 14 shots in relief.
