Dvorak, Marner earn six points each for Knights

LONDON, Ont. – Christian Dvorak and Mitchell Marner were all over the scoresheet on Friday night.

Both London Knights’ had six points as they slipped past the Sarnia Sting 8-6 in Ontario Hockey League action.

Dvorak had a goal and five assists while Marner scored twice and added four assists for the Knights (24-10-3), who have won nine of their last 10 games. Matt Rupert had a hat trick and added two assists while Zach Grzelewski and Josh Sterk rounded out the attack.

Jakob Chychrun, Hayden Hodgson, Davis Brown, Alexandre Renaud, Daniel Nikandrov and Stephen Pierog scored for Sarnia (18-15-3).

Michael Giugovaz kicked out 42 shots for London while Taylor Dupuis turned aside 25-of-32 shots in 58:17.

The Knights converted on a pair of power plays while the Sting went 2 for 4.

COLTS 4 FRONTENACS 3

KINGSTON, Ont. — Garrett Hooey scored the first of three second-period goals for Barrie as they held on to beat the Frontenacs.

Joseph Blandisi, Justin Scott and Brendan Lemieux rounded out the attack for the Colts (22-12-2) for their sixth-straight win.

Ryan Kujawinski started the scoring for Kingston (14-16-5) with Samuel Schutt and Ryan Verbeek adding late goals.

SPIRIT 7 WHALERS 2

PLYMOUTH, Mich. — Dylan Sadowy had a four-point night — including a hat trick — as Saginaw routed the Whalers.

Connor Brown struck twice for the Spirit (17-17-2) with Mitchell Stephens and Tye Felhaber adding the others. Nick Moutrey had three assists.

Mitch Jones scored both goals for Plymouth (12-22-3).

STORM 3 ATTACK 2 (SO)

GUELPH, Ont. –Zac Leslie scored in the sixth round of the shootout and once in regulation as the Storm edged Owen Sound.

Adam Craievich also found the back of the net for Guelph (21-14-2), which snapped a two-game losing streak.

Jeffrey Gilligan and Kyle Platzer replied in the third period to force extra time for the Attack (16-10-9).

ICEDOGS 5 RANGERS 1

KITCHENER, Ont. — Carter Verhaeghe struck twice and added an assist as Niagara dominated the Rangers.

Vince Dunn, Brendan Perlini and Graham Knott supplied the rest of the offence for the IceDogs (13-21-2). Josh Ho-Sang added three assists.

Dylan DiPerna answered in the second period for Kitchener (15-13-7).

OTTERS 6 STEELHEADS 3

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Dylan Strome scored twice and added an assist as Erie doubled the Steelheads.

Cory Genovese, Alex DeBrincat, Kyle Pettit and Trent Fox also chipped in for the Otters (27-7-3), who have now won four of their last five.

Michael McLeod, Josh Burnside and Lucas Venuto responded for Mississauga (17-18-2).

SUDBURY, Ont. — Leo Lazarev stopped all 22 shots he faced as Ottawa blanked the Wolves.

Ben Fanjoy, Jeremiah Addison, Tyler Hill, Travis Koneny, Erik Bradford and Travis Barron all found the back of the net for the 67’s (18-15-2).

Troy Timpano made 28 saves in goal for Sudbury (7-25-2).
