Eisenschmid, Sanford, Hunt lead Tigers past Giants

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. — Markus Eisenschmid, Cole Sanford and Dryden Hunt scored two goals apiece as the Medicine Hat Tigers charged past the Vancouver Giants with an 8-4 victory in Western Hockey League action on Wednesday.

Trevor Cox had a goal and an assist and David Quenneville rounded out the Medicine Hat (31-12-2) offence. Matt Bradley and Chad Butcher each chipped in with three assists.

Jackson Houck led the struggling Giants (19-25-2) with a goal and an assist. Dalton Sward, Zane Jones and Arvin Atwal also scored as Vancouver dropped its fifth straight game.

Tigers goaltender Nick Schneider made 21 saves. Giants goalie Cody Porter kicked out 29 shots in the losing effort.

Medicine Hat scored three power-play goals on six chances. Vancouver went 2 for 4 with the man advantage.

BLAZERS 3 AMERICANS 1

KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Patrick Maier scored just 46 seconds into the game and the Blazers tacked on two more first-period goals en route to victory over Tri-City.

Cole Ully had a goal and an assist for Kamloops (17-24-6), which has won three straight, and Luke Harrison also scored.

Ty Comrie had the lone goal for the Americans (22-22-2).

SILVERTIPS 4 COUGARS 1

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Kohl Bauml scored back-to-back goals in the third period and added an assist to push Everett past the Cougars for its sixth straight victory.

Carson Stadnyk had a goal and two helpers while Montreal Canadiens prospect Nikita Scherback rounded out the attack for the Silvertips (30-12-4).

Aaron Macklin scored a power-play goal for Price George (20-26-2), which has failed to earn a point in its last seven games.
