Knights’ goalie Stolarz suffers scary leg injury

The Saginaw Spirit defeated the London Knights in OHL action.

London Knights’ starting netminder Anthony Stolarz suffered a scary leg injury on Friday night’s game against the Saginaw Spirit.

In what appeared to be a scuffle in front of the Philadelphia Flyers’ prospect’s crease, a skate blade slashed Stolarz’s back leg, which led to a significant amount of bleeding.

The Knights’ training staff had to apply pressure to the cut and Stolarz was taken off the ice on a stretcher.

Knights’ backup goalie Jake Patterson took over for Stolarz.

Stolarz is 21-4-1-1 with the Knights this year and boasts a 2.58 goal-against average and .925 save percentage.

Earlier this year, the netminder suited up for Team USA at the World Junior Hockey Championships, backing up Jon Gillies.
