Leafs prospect Gauthier has 4 points in win

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Christopher Clapperton scored twice and added three assists as the Oceanic scored five times in the third period to rout Victoriaville 9-3.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Frederik Gauthier also had a pair of goals for No. 6 Rimouski (31-13-3). Anthony DeLuca, Tyler Boland, Simon Bourque, Alexis Loiseau and Michael Joly also scored.

Angelo Miceli struck twice for the Tigres (21-22-6), who lost their seventh straight. Phil Pietroniro scored the other.

MONCTON, N.B. – Conor Garland had a five-point night — including two goals — and Ivan Barbashev added five assists as the Moncton Wildcats defeated the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 8-5 on Friday night in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.

Cameron Askew also scored twice for Moncton (32-14-3), which won its third straight. Jacob Sweeney, Matthew Klebanskyj, Will Smith and Kyle Tibbo added the others. The No. 9 Wildcats outshot Baie-Comeau 46-28.

Luca Ciampini and Maxime St-Cyr both struck twice for the No. 10 Drakkar (27-15-7). Jeremy Gregoire scored in the first period while Frederic Gamelin had three assists.

Alex Dubeau turned aside 23 shots in the win while Philippe Cadorette made 38 saves for Baie-Comeau.

Moncton converted four times on six power plays while the Drakkar went 0 for 4.

Baie-Comeau’s Simon Desbiens received a match penalty for boarding at 19:06 of the second period.

CHARLOTTETOWN — Landon Schiller scored the first of five-straight goals as Chicoutimi dominated the Islanders.

Alexandre Ranger, Laurent Dauphin, Carl Tremblay, Nicolas Roy and Charles Guevremont supplied the rest of the Sagueneens (20-21-5) offence.

Daniel Sprong struck twice for Charlottetown (25-21-4).

HALIFAX — Winnipeg Jets prospect Nikolaj Ehlers scored twice and added an assist as the Mooseheads topped Cape Breton.

Philippe Gadoury added the other goal for Halifax (24-20-4) on the power play.

Marcus Hinds found the back of the net for the Screaming Eagles (21-23-5).

PHOENIX 4 ARMADA 3 (SO)

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Kay Schweri and Daniel Audette scored in the shootout as the Phoenix slipped by No. 8 Blainsville-Boisbriand.

Aaron Hoyles, shorthanded, and Cameron Darcy, on the power play, started the scoring for Sherbrooke (28-17-4), which won its fourth straight. Tim Wieser added his 33rd of the season.

Daniel Walcott struck twice for the Armada (29-12-7), with Philippe Bureau-Blais adding the other with the man advantage.

SEA DOGS 6 VOLTIGEURS 2

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Nathan Noel had a pair of goals and added an assist as Saint John downed the Voltigeurs.

Adam Marsh, Matthew Highmore, Adam Bateman and Bokondji Imama rounded out the attack for the Sea Dogs (26-16-7). The win snaps a two-game skid.

Christophe Lalancette and Joey Ratelle replied for Drummondville (23-24-3).
