Marner has 5 points as Knights rout Spitfires

WINDSOR, Ont. — Mitchell Marner had a hat trick and two assists to lead the London Knights to a 8-2 rout of the Windsor Spitfires in Ontario Hockey League play on Saturday.

Captain Max Domi had two goals and two assists for London (15-8-0), which won its second straight. Owen MacDonald also scored twice with Aaron Berisha adding the other.

Liam Murray and Hayden McCool responded for the Spitfires (7-14-1) in their fourth-straight loss.

Tyler Parsons turned away 41 shots for the win. Brendan Johnston started for Windsor making 10-of-16 saves in 28:54. Alex Fotinos relieved him and stopped 8-of-10 shots in 31:06.

The Knights’ power play was dominant, converting five times on seven opportunities. The Spitfires went 1 for 4 on the power play.

67’S 7 FRONTENACS 4

OTTAWA — Travis Konecny had a goal and three assists and Tyler Hill struck twice as the 67’s beat Kingston.

Jeremiah Addison, Erik Bradford, Taylor David and Dante Salituro also scored for Ottawa (10-8-2) .

Ryan Kujawinski, Lawson Crouse, Conor McGlynn and Spencer Watson scored for the Frontenacs (9-8-3).

ATTACK 3 BULLS 2

BELLEVILLE, Ont. — Daniel Milne found the back of the net halfway through the third period and it proved to be the game winner as Owen Sound edged the Bulls.

Petrus Palmu also scored in the third period for the Attack (12-5-5), who won their third straight. Jeffrey Gilligan had a power-play goal for Owen Sound.

Michael Cramarossa opened the scoring with a short-handed goal for Belleville (12-9-2). Brandon Saigeon rounded out the Bulls’ offence.

WHALERS 2 ICEDOGS 1

PLYMOUTH, Mich. — Vincent Scognamiglio scored at 14:06 of the third period as the Whalers edged Niagara.

Cullen Mercer had Plymouth’s (9-12-2) other goal on the power play.

Mikkel Aagaard replied with a power-play goal of his own for the IceDogs (6-16-0), who recorded their third-straight loss.

PETES 4 COLTS 3

BARRIE, Ont. — Dominik Masin and Eric Cornel each had a goal and an assist as Peterborough held off the Colts.

Nick Ritchie and Michael Clarke rounded out the attack for the Petes (7-10-3).

Brendan Lemieux struck twice for Barrie (9-9-2), with Justin Scott also chipping in.

OTTERS 7 SPIRIT 1

SAGINAW, Mich. — Dylan Strome and Joel Wigle both struck twice as Erie dominated the Spirit.

Brothers Taylor and Darren Raddysh also had goals for the Otters (19-3-1) with Patrick Murphy chipping in.

Mitchell Stephens scored shorthanded to open the scoring for Saginaw (10-10-2).
