OHL Final: Marner has two points as Knights take Game 1

London's top line of Mitch Marner, Matthew Tkachuk and Christian Dvorak now have a combined 101 points in 15 games this post-season, as Knights knock off IceDogs in Game 1.

LONDON, Ont. — Tyler Parsons made 27 saves and playoff leading scorer Mitch Marner had a goal and an assist as the London Knights downed the Niagara IceDogs 4-1 on Thursday to open the Ontario Hockey League final.

Marner now has 16 goals and 39 points in 15 post-season games to lead all OHL skaters. The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect has only been held off the score sheet once in the playoffs and 11 multi-point games. Meanwhile, Parsons leads all OHL goalies in the playoffs with a 2.18 goals-against average and .926 save percentage.

Owen MacDonald, Chandler Yakimowicz and Christian Dvorak also scored for for the Knights, who are trying to win their third J. Ross Robertson Cup in the last five seasons.

Pavel Jenys found the back of the net for the Ice Dogs. Alex Nedeljokovic stopped 19-of-23 shots in a losing cause.

London went 1 for 4 on the power play while Niagara failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.

Game 2 goes Saturday in London.
