KINGSTON, Ont. — Brock McGinn scored three times and added an assist as the Guelph Storm crushed the host Kingston Frontenacs 9-3 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League action.
Zack Mitchell had two goals and two assists for the Storm (6-3-0) while Scott Komachuk scored once and set up three more.
Brody Milne recorded two goals and Ryan Horvat tacked on a goal and an assist to round out Guelph’s offence.
Lawson Crouse, Sam Bennett and Sam Povorozniouk scored for the Frontenacs (7-1-1), who suffered their first regular season loss of the season, while Henri Ikonen had two assists.
Justin Nichols made 35 saves for the win. Matt Mahalak picked up the loss after allowing four goals on 19 shots. Lucas Peressini replaced Mahalak and stopped 12-of-17 shots in 34 minutes of relief.
McGinn and Kosmachuk scored 1:13 apart late in the first period to give Guelph a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
Milne scored back-to-back goals to open the second period for the Storm, which led to Mahalak being pulled for Peressini.
Bennett got Kingston on the board at 5:50 and Povorozniouk scored late in the second to make it 4-2 Guelph. But the Storm opened up the third period with five straight goals to put the game away.
Mitchell scored 1:11 into the third, McGann followed and then Mitchell added his second of the contest at 7:37.
Horvat and McGinn scored three minutes apart to make it 9-2 before Crouse chipped in goal for the Frontenacs in the final minute of the period.
Guelph went 0-for-4 on the power play while Kingston scored once on six chances with the man advantage.

67’s 5, Wolves 4 (OT)
OTTAWA, — Travis Konecny scored in regulation and got the shootout winner as the 67’s edged Sudbury.
Philippe Trudeau made 48 saves through 65 minutes for Ottawa (5-5-0) and three more in the shootout.
Ryan Van Stralen and Joseph Blandisi each had a goal and an assist for the 67’s while Nevin Guy scored the other.
Connor Crisp, Nathan Pancel, Nicholas Baptiste and Danny Desrochers supplied the offence for the Wolves (3-2-4) as Franky Palazzese stopped 39 shots in defeat.
