OHL: Battalion double-up 67’s behind Moutrey

OTTAWA — Nick Moutrey scored and added two assists as the North Bay Battalion downed the Ottawa 67’s 6-3 on Tuesday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Mike Amadio’s short-handed goal early in the second period was the eventual winner for North Bay (18-9-7), while Ray Huether also scored while the Battalion were a man down. Owen Green, Mike Baird and Ryan Kujawinski rounded out the attack. Goaltender Jake Smith made 19 saves for the win.

Sam Studnicka, Dante Salituro and Brendan Bell replied for Ottawa (18-16-2), which trailed 5-0 after Huether’s goal at the 7:39 mark of the second period.

Leo Lazarev started in net for the 67’s, stopping 9-of-13 shots in 23:56 of work. Lazarev was pulled after Amadio’s goal. Marcus Semiao turned aside 15-of-17 shots in relief.

North Bay did not score on its two power plays, while Ottawa went 1 for 5 with the man advantage.
