OHL: Early surge lifts Attack over Firebirds

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Justin Brack, Jonah Gadjovich and Ethan Szypula all scored in the first period as the Owen Sound Attack downed the Flint Firebirds 5-2 on Wednesday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Nick Suzuki and Jarett Meyer also found the back of the net for Owen Sound (3-0-0), while Michael McNiven stopped 30 shots.

Zach Grzelewski had a pair of goals for Flint (2-1-0). Zack Bowman was pulled from the Firebirds’ net after Szypula’s eventual winner 13:52 into the game. He stopped 12-of-15 shots. Kyle Keyser turned aside 26-of-28 shots in relief.

The Attack went 2 for 4 on the power play, while Flint couldn’t score on its four man advantages.
