OHL: MacInnis scores 4 as Rangers beat slumping Petes

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Ryan MacInnis scored four times and Luke Opilka made 29 saves as the Kitchener Rangers toppled the host Peterborough Petes 7-2 on Thursday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Connor Bunnaman and Gustaf Franzen each had a goal and two assists for the Rangers (10-0-3) while Jake Henderson rounded out of the offence.

Jeremy Bracco, Frank Hora and Brandon Robinson chipped in with two helpers apiece.

Logan DeNoble and Josh Coyle found the back of the net for the Petes (5-6-3), who are on a six-game slide.

Peterborough’s Dylan Wells turned aside 23-of-30 shots in a losing cause.

Kitchener went 3 for 4 on the power play while the Petes failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Josh Ho-Sang had a goal and an assist and Stephen Dillon made 16 saves as Niagara doubled up Mississauga.

Brendan Perlini and Mikkel Aagaard also had a goal and an assist each for the IceDogs (5-7-1) while Anthony DiFruscia added the other.

Alexander Nylander struck twice for the Steelheads (6-6-2), who got a 39-save performance from Jack Flinn.

BATTALION 3 67’S 2 (OT)

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Zach Poirier scored 2:27 into the extra period as the Battalion edged Ottawa to halt a three-game skid.

Miles Liberati and Mike Amadio also scored for North Bay (6-6-1) while Jake Kment made 23 saves for the victory.

Travis Konency and Ben Fanjoy supplied the offence for the 67’s (8-5-1). Liam Herbst stopped 22-of-25 shots in defeat.

WINDSOR, Ont. — Garret Hughson stopped all 28 shots his way and Daniil Vertiy had a pair of goals as the Spitfires blanked Flint.

Mikhail Sergachev added a goal and an assist for Windsor (9-2-3).

Kyle Keyser kicked out 26-of-29 shots for the Firebirds (5-7-1), who are on a four-game losing streak.

OTTERS 4 COLTS 3

BARRIE, Ont. — Alex DiBrincat broke a 3-3 deadlock at 19:08 of the third period as Erie got past the Colts.

Dylan Strome had two goals and an assist for the Otters (11-1-1) while Kyle Maksimovich scored the other. Jake Lawr made 23 saves for the win.

Andrew Mangiapane scored once for Barrie (8-5-0) and assisted on goals from Roy Radke and Cordell James. Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 30 shots in defeat.
