OHL Playoffs: Otters advance with Game 5 win over Greyhounds

Dylan Strome had a hat trick to help the Otters eliminate the Greyhounds with a 5-2 win.

ERIE, Pa. — Dylan Strome scored three goals and assisted on two more as the Erie Otters advanced to the Ontario Hockey League’s Western Conference final with a 5-2 victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Friday.

Taylor Raddysh and Alex DeBrincat rounded out the offence with a goal and an assist apiece for Erie, which took the best-of-seven series in five games.

Mac Hollowell and Jack Kopacka scored for the Greyhounds.

Otters goaltender Devin Williams made just 12 saves to earn the victory. Sault Ste. Marie’s Brandon Halverson turned aside 25 shots in the losing effort.

Erie was 2 for 4 on the power play while the Greyhounds failed to score on two chances with the man advantage.

The Otters will play the London Knights in the Western Conference final.
