OHL Roundup: Cam Hillis scores overtime winner as Storm edge 67’s

OTTAWA – Cam Hillis scored his second goal of the game on the power play in overtime and added an assist to lead the Guelph Storm over the Ottawa 67’s 5-4 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League play.

Zach Poirier, Owen Lalonde and Ryan Merkley rounded out the attack for the Storm (21-17-4). Anthony Popovich turned aside 30 shots for the win.

Sam Bitten, Sasha Chmelevski, Travis Barron and Tye Felhaber scored for Ottawa (17-20-5). Cedrick Andree made 36 saves for the 67’s.

Guelph went 2-for-6 on the power play and Ottawa was scoreless on three attempts.

BATTALION 4 PETES 3 (SO)

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Adam McMaster and Justin Brazeau scored in the shootout as the Battalion rallied past Peterborough.

McMaster, Riley Bruce and Jake Henderson had goals in regulation for North Bay (18-19-6). Christian Propp turned aside 16 shots for the win.

Pavel Gogolev, Bobby Dow and Semyon Der-Arguchintsev found the back of the net for the Petes (18-21-4). Dylan Wells made 29 saves for Peterborough.

WOLVES 2 ATTACK 1

SUDBURY, Ont. — Drake Pilon had the winner and Jake McGrath turned aside 33 shots as the Wolves edged Owen Sound.

Darian Pilon also scored for Sudbury (12-25-6).

Kevin Hancock opened the scoring and Mack Guzda made 23 saves for the Attack (16-18-7).

SPIRIT 3 SPITFIRES 2 (SO)

WINDSOR, Ont. — Cole Coskey had the only shootout goal and added another in regulation to lift Saginaw past the Spitfires.

Jake Goldowski had the other goal in regulation for the Spirit (22-16-3) and Evan Cormier made 15 saves.

Mathew MacDougall and Luke Boka scored for Windsor (22-15-4). Michael DiPietro turned aside 46 shots in defeat.

OTTERS 4 FIREBIRDS 3 (SO)

ERIE, Pa. — Patrick Fellows and Ivan Lodnia scored in the shootout as the Otters edged Flint.

Fellows, on the power play, Christian Girhiny and Hayden Fowler also chipped for Erie (13-21-9). Daniel Murphy combined with Anand Oberoi for 27 saves.

Ty Dellandrea, Maurizio Colella and C.J. Clarke had goals for the Firebirds (12-25-4). Luke Cavallin turned aside 30 shots in defeat.

KNIGHTS 2 RANGERS 1

KITCHENER, Ont. — Jordan Kooy stopped 38 shots and Connor McMichael scored the winner as London topped the Rangers.

Lucas Rowe also scored for the Knights (23-17-3).

Riley Damiani had a power-play goal for Kitchener (27-14-2) and Luke Richardson kicked out 28 shots.

GENERALS 3 FRONTENACS 0

OSHAWA, Ont. — Kyle Keyser stopped all 34 shots he faced as the Generals shut out Kingston.

Serron Noel, Renars Krastenbergs and Kenny Huether scored for Oshawa (21-19-3).

Jeremy Helvig turned aside 23 shots for the Frontenacs (21-15-6).
