OHL Roundup: Chmelevski leads 67’s victory over Generals

OTTAWA — Sasha Chmelevski had a goal and an assist as the Ottawa 67’s doubled up the Oshawa Generals 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League action on Saturday.

Quinn Yule’s goal 14:50 into the second period stood as the winner and Oliver True and Hudson Wilson also scored for Ottawa (22-21-8).

Renars Krastenbergs and Allan McShane scored for the Generals (25-25-3).

67’s goaltender Olivier Tremblay turned away 32 shots. Oshawa’s Kyle Keyser made 35 saves.

Both teams were 0 for 1 on the power play.

RANGERS 4 BULLDOGS 3

HAMILTON — Nick McHugh scored the winner with 37 seconds left in the third period to lift Kitchener over the Bulldogs.

Connor Bunnaman, Adam Mascherin and Riley Damiani also scored for the Rangers (36-15-2).

Arthur Kaliyev led Hamilton (33-14-6) with two goals and Jack Hanley had the other.

GREYHOUNDS 6 OTTERS 2

ERIE, Pa. — Hayden Verbeek scored twice as Sault Ste. Marie downed the Otters.

Taylor Raddysh, Noah Carroll, Jack Kopacka and Tim Gettinger also scored for the Greyhounds (45-5-3).

Ryan Martin and Kurtis Henry scored for Erie (15-29-9).

KNIGHTS 5 WOLVES 3

LONDON, Ont. — Josh Nelson scored the winner at 9:58 of the third period as the Knights rode past Sudbury.

Nathan Dunkley, Dalton Duhart, Billy Moskal and Liam Foudy also scored for London (28-20-4).

Peter Stratis, Kirill Nizhnikov and David Levin found the back of the net for the Wolves (14-33-6).

PETES 4 BATTALION 3 (SO)

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Nikita Korostelev scored once in regulation and again in the shootout as the Petes edged North Bay.

Nick Robertson and Brady Hinz scored for Peterborough (19-28-6).

Matthew Struthers struck twice and Brad Chenier had the other for the Battalion (24-21-8).

STING 5 ICEDOGS 4 (OT)

SARNIA, Ont. — Cam Dineen scored at 4:27 of overtime as the Sting toppled Niagara.

Jordan Ernst, Drake Rymsha, Anthony Salinitri and Jordan Kyrou also scored for Sarnia (37-12-4).

Danial Singer paced the IceDogs (26-18-8) offence with a hat trick while Johnny Corneil also scored.

COLTS 4 FIREBIRDS 3

BARRIE, Ont. — Dmitry Sokolov had a hat trick as the Colts beat Flint.

Lucas Chiodo also scored for Barrie (31-19-3).

Max Kislinger, Maurizio Colella and C.J. Clarke supplied the goals for the Firebirds (16-32-5).

SPITFIRES 3 SPIRIT 2 (OT)

SAGINAW, Mich. — Mathew MacDougall completed his hat trick at 3:16 of overtime as Windsor came back to beat the Spirit.

MacDougall scored twice in the second before finishing off the game for the Spitfires (24-24-4).

Mason Kohn and DJ Busdeker built up an early 2-0 lead for Saginaw (25-19-8).
