ERIE, Pa. — Alex DeBrincat had a hat trick — including the eventual winner — as the Erie Otters held off the Mississauga Steelheads for a 5-2 win on Tuesday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Kyle Pettit and Vanya Lodnia also scored for Erie (14-2-1), while Devin Williams made 24 saves for the win.
Nathan Bastian and Jason Smith replied for Mississauga (9-9-2). Jack Flinn stopped 40 shots in net for the Steelheads.
The Otters went 1 for 4 on the power play, while Mississauga could not score on its one man advantage.

KITCHENER, Ont. — Nick McHugh had a short-handed goal as the Rangers edged Sarnia.
Gustaf Franzen and Ryan MacInnis both scored on the power play for Kitchener (14-1-3).
Jordan Kyrou and Hayden Hodgson supplied the offence for the Sting (10-6-2).
