FLINT, Mich. — Mathieu Henderson scored in overtime and added two assists in regulation to lead the Flint Firebirds past the Saginaw Spirit 6-5 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Will Bitten and Luke Kirwan both scored on the power play for Flint (19-35-6) in the third period to tie the game and force extra time. Ryan Moore, Zack Pittman and Nicholas Caamano rounded out the attack for the Firebirds.

Brent Moran made 24 saves for the win.

Connor Brown and Kris Bennett had power-play goals for Saginaw (23-31-7), while Mitchell Stephens, Michael Holmes and Blake Clarke also scored. Goaltender Evan Cormier stopped 28 shots for the Spirit.

Flint went 3 for 4 on the power play and Saginaw was 2 for 6 with the man advantage.
