OHL Roundup: Joseph Raaymakers’ shutout lifts Knights over Spitfires

WINDSOR, Ont. — Joseph Raaymakers stopped all 34 shots he faced as the London Knights blanked the Windsor Spitfires 4-0 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Cliff Pu scored twice, including the power-play winner, for London (10-10-2). Tyler Rollo and Max Jones also scored for the Knights.

Michael DiPietro turned aside 25 shots for Windsor (12-10-1).

The Knights went 2 for 4 on the power play and the Spitfires went 0 for 3 on the man advantage.

BATTALION 6 WOLVES 5

SUDBURY, Ont. — Brad Chenier had a hat trick as North Bay edged the Wolves.

Chenier knocked in the game-winning goal for the Battalion (7-13-3) at 10:19 of the third period. Brandon Coe, Justin Brazeau and Luke Burghardt chipped in as well.

Anthony Tabak, Darian Pilon, Reagan O’Grady, Drake Pilon and Michael Pezzetta supplied the offence for Sudbury (7-14-4).

STEELHEADS 3 ICEDOGS 1

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Owen Tippett had a goal and two assists to lift the Steelheads over Niagara.

Michael McLeod, with the winner, and Nicolas Hague also scored for Mississauga (11-10-1).

Kirill Maksimov responded on the power play for the IceDogs (9-8-4).

Niagara’s Adrian Carbonara and Kyle Langdon were both given major penalties and game misconducts for checking to the head.

KINGSTON, Ont. — Nikita Okhotyuk had the late winner for Ottawa at 18:01 of the third period as the 67’s slipped past the Frontenacs.

Sasha Chmelevski, Travis Barron and Mathieu Foget also scored for Ottawa (13-9-1).

Tyler Burnie and Nathan Dunkley replied for Kingston (12-7-3).

ATTACK 6 FIREBIRDS 4

FLINT, Mich. — Nick Suzuki scored a hat trick as Owen Sound toppled the Firebirds.

Chase Campbell, Maksim Sushko and Daylon Groulx also found the back of the net for the Attack (12-7-2).

Ryan Moore struck twice with Kyle Harris and Ethan Keppen also chipping in for Flint (7-13-2).

SPIRIT 3 OTTERS 1

SAGINAW, Mich. — Mason Kohn had the winner on a second-period power play to lift the Spirit past Erie.

Cole Coskey and Blade Jenkins had the others for Saginaw (9-9-3).

Patrick Fellows tied the game at 1-1 in the first period for the Otters (9-11-3).

RANGERS 4 PETES 1

KITCHENER, Ont. — Riley Damiani scored the winner and Jake Henderson tacked on three assists as the Rangers downed Peterborough.

Adam Liska, Logan Stanley and Connor Bunnaman had the other goals for Kitchener (15-6-2).

Declan Chisholm opened the scoring for the Petes (12-11-1).

STING 4 STORM 3 (OT)

GUELPH, Ont. — Adam Ruzicka scored his second goal of the game at 2:57 of overtime as Sarnia topped the Storm.

Curtis Egert and Jamieson Rees also chipped in for the Sting (18-4-1).

Isaac Ratcliffe, Garrett McFadden and Ryan Merkley scored for Guelph (10-9-3).

COLTS 5 GENERALS 3

OSHAWA, Ont. — TJ Fergus struck twice and Lucas Chiodo had a goal and two assists as Barrie got past the Generals.

Zachary Magwood and Justin Murray also scored for the Colts (13-6-2).

Kenny Huether, Danil Antropov and Eric Henderson scored for Oshawa (9-12-2).

Barrie’s Curtis Douglas received a major penalty and game misconduct for cross checking in the second period.
