OHL Roundup: Lemieux gets 4 points for Spitfires

SAGINAW, Mich. — Brendan Lemieux had three goals and an assist as the Windsor Spitfires doubled up the host Saginaw Spirit 6-3 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Aaron Luchuk added a pair of goals for the Spitfires (20-9-5) while Cristiano DiGiacinto had a goal and an assist. Logan Brown chipped in with three helpers.

Artem Artemoz, Dylan Sadowy and Tye Felhaber scored for the Spirit (14-17-3).

Windsor’s Garret Hughson made 30 saves for the win as Saginaw’s Evan Cormier kicked out 25-of-31 shots in defeat.

Both clubs went 1 for 3 on the power play.

FRONTENACS 4 67’S 2

OTTAWA — Konstantin Chernyuk scored his first goal of the season on the power play in the third period as Kingston rallied past the 67’s.

Jason Robertson also found the back of the net in the third for the Frontenacs (21-10-3). Cody Caron, shorthanded, and Stephen Desrocher, on the power play, evened the game at 2-2 with goals in the second period.

Dante Salituro and Jeremiah Addison scored power-play goals for Ottawa (17-16-1) in the first.

Kingston’s Nathan Billitier received a match penalty for slew footing at the end of the first period.

STORM 4 STEELHEADS 3 (SO)

GUELPH, Ont. — Jacob Harris scored the only goal of the shootout as the Storm slipped past Mississauga.

Brock Philips, Matthew Hotchkiss and Tyler Hill supplied the offence in regulation for Guelph (3-27-2).

Josh Burnside had a goal and two assists for the Steelheads (18-14-4) with Nicolas Hague and Stefan LeBlanc adding the others.

Mississauga’s Michael McLeod was assessed a game misconduct for butt ending in the third period.

OTTERS 3 STING 2 (SO)

ERIE, Pa. — TJ Fergus scored the shootout winner as the Otters slipped past Sarnia.

Kyle Maksimovich and Nick Betz scored in regulation for Erie (28-4-1).

Alex Black and Matt Mistele responded for the Sting (18-11-3).

BULLDOGS 4 FIREBIRDS 2

HAMILTON — Trent Fox had two goals and an assist as the Bulldogs toppled Flint.

Michael Cramarossa and Niki Petti also found the back of the net for Hamilton (13-17-3).

The Firebirds (14-16-3) got goals from Ryan Moore and Connor Chatham.

BATTALION 5 COLTS 2

BARRIE, Ont. — Mike Amadio scored once and set up two more as North Bay beat the Colts for its fifth win in its last six games.

Kyle Wood, Justin Brazeau, Mathew Santos and Steve Harland also scored for the Battalion (17-12-3).

Justin Scott and Rasmus Andersson struck for Barrie (19-12-1) while Andrew Mangiapane and Kevin Labanc picked up assists in both goals.

ATTACK 4 KNIGHTS 3 (OT)

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Nick Suzuki’s second goal came in overtime as the Attack came from behind to beat London.

Ethan Szypula and Sean Durz also scored for Owen Sound (15-13-6).

Nicolas Mattinen, Victor Mete and Chandler Yakimowicz built a 3-0 lead for the Knights (25-5-3).
