OHL Roundup: Lodnia, Gritz each score twice as Otters defeat Attack

ERIE, Pa. — Ivan Lodnia and Alex Gritz each scored twice to lead the Erie Otters past the Owen Sound Attack 6-4 on Saturday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Kyle Maksimovich and Joseph Mack also chipped in for the Otters (4-6-1). Taylor Raddysh tacked on three assists.

Nick Suzuki had a pair of goals for Owen Sound (6-2-2) with Kevin Hancock and Sean Durzi rounding out the attack.

Anand Oberoi kicked out 29 shots for the win in net. Mack Guzda combined with Zack Bowman for 18 saves for the Attack.

Erie converted once on two power plays while the Attack were 3 for 6.

FIREBIRDS 7 PETES 3

FLINT, Mich. — Ryan Moore had a goal and two assists as the Firebirds downed Peterborough.

Ty Dellandrea, Nicholas Caamano, Ethan Keppen, Maurizio Colella, Marcus Gretz and Max Kislinger supplied the rest of the offence for Flint (6-3-1).

Logan DeNoble struck twice with Zach Gallant adding the other for the Petes (8-3-1).

Garrett Forrest turned aside 28 shots for Flint. Dylan Wells made 24 saves for Peterborough.

67’S 1 ICEDOGS 0 (OT)

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Kody Clark scored at 4:55 of overtime as Ottawa shut out the IceDogs.

Olivier Tremblay stopped all 29 shots for the 67’s (8-3-2).

Stephen Dhillon kicked out 24 shots for Niagara (7-2-2).

STORM 2 SPIRIT 1

SAGINAW, Mich. — Isaac Ratcliffe had both goals for Guelph as it edged the Spirit.

Anthony Popovich turned away 31 shots for the Storm (5-5-1).

Damien Giroux responded for Saginaw (2-6-1) and Evan Cormier made 28 saves.

GENERALS 2 RANGERS 1

OSHAWA, Ont. — Domenico Commisso scored the winner midway through the third period as the Generals topped Kitchener.

Renars Krastenbergs opened the scoring in the second and Kyle Keysey made 18 saves for Oshawa (5-4-2).

Adam Mascherin found the back of the net for the Rangers (7-5-1). Luke Richardson kicked out 21 shots in defeat.

Kitchener’s Giovanni Vallati was given a match penalty for check to the head at 15:12 of the first period.

WOLVES 3 FRONTENACS 2

SUDBURY, Ont. — Dmitry Sokolov struck twice and Marshall Frappier made 31 saves as the Wolves topped Kingston.

Kyle Rhodes also scored for Sudbury (4-7-2).

Tyler Burnie and Linus Nyman had goals for the Frontenacs (5-4-2). Jeremy Helvig turned aside 26 shots in net.

STING 7 COLTS 2

BARRIE, Ont. — Drake Rymsha and Franco Sproviero each had a goal and two assists as Sarnia beat the Colts for its 11th win in a row.

Ryan McGregor, Jamieson Rees, Adam Ruzicka, Colton Kammerer, Cameron Hough also scored for the Sting (12-1-0).

Jaden Peca and Alexey Lipanov scored for Barrie (7-3-1).

Justin Fazio made 37 saves for Sarnia. Leo Lazarev kicked out 23 shots for the Colts.
