OHL Roundup: Mac Hollowell leads Greyhounds to win over Spirit

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — Mac Hollowell had two goals and two assists as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds downed the Saginaw Spirit 6-3 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Morgan Frost scored once and set up two more for the Greyhounds (6-1-1), who also got goals from Ryan Roth, Boris Katchouk and Jack Kopacka.

Damien Giroux had a pair of goals for the Spirit (1-4-1) while Ryan Stepien had the other.

Matthew Villalta made 38 saves for the win as Evan Cormier stopped 29-of-35 shots in a losing cause.

Sault Ste. Marie went 2 for 7 on the power play while Saginaw scored once on seven chances with the man advantage.

Spirit winger Nicholas Porco was handed a match penalty for slew footing midway through the second period.

FIREBIRDS 7 STORM 1

FLINT, Mich. — Ethan Keppen and Max Kislinger both struck twice as the Firebirds pummelled Guelph to snap a three-game slide.

Maurizio Colella, Nicolas Mattinen and Nicholas Caamano also scored for Flint (4-2-1) while Ryan Moore tacked on three assists.

Matt Hotchkiss was the lone scorer for the Storm (3-3-1).

Garrett Forrest made 24 saves for the Firebirds. Anthony Popovich and Cole Ceci combined to stop 32-of-39 shots for Guelph.

ATTACK 5 OTTERS 2

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Aidan Dudas had a pair of goals as the Attack defeated Erie.

Alan Lyszczarczyk, Kevin Hancock and Jacob Friend also scored for Owen Sound (4-1-2).

Ivan Lodnia and Kyle Maksimovich responded for the Otters (2-5-1).

Mack Guzda kicked out 22 shots for The Attack. Troy Timpano turned away 34 shots for Erie.
