OHL Roundup: Mario Culina perfect as Rangers shut out IceDogs

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – Mario Culina stopped all 34 shots he faced as the Kitchener Rangers shut out the Niagara IceDogs 6-0 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Riley Damiani scored and added two assists for Kitchener (28-14-2), while Givani Smith had the eventual winner in the first minute of play. Kole Sherwood, Nick McHugh, Eric Guest and Adam Mascherin also scored.

Colton Incze combined with Stephen Dhillon for 26 saves for Niagara (24-13-5).

The Rangers went 1 for 3 on the power play and the IceDogs went 0 for 7 on the power play.

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Nick Suzuki had the eventual winner as the Attack eked out a win over Hamilton.

Jackson Doherty also scored for Owen Sound (17-18-7).

Matthew Strome scored for the Bulldogs (27-10-6).

67’S 6 STEELHEADS 2

OTTAWA — Travis Barron had a hat trick as the 67’s downed Mississauga.

Sasha Chmelevski had a pair of goals, including the eventual winner, for Ottawa (18-20-5). Austen Keating also found the back of the net.

Nicolas Hague and Owen Tippett scored for the Steelheads (18-24-1).

STING 6 FIREBIRDS 3

FLINT, Mich. — Adam Ruzicka scored three times, including the third-period winner, as Sarnia doubled the Firebirds.

Theo Calvas, Drake Rymsha and Michael Pezzetta also scored for the Sting (30-12-2).

Connor Roberts, Maurizio Colella and Ty Dellandrea scored for the Firebirds (12-26-4).
