OHL Roundup: Menna stops 23 as Firebirds shut out Spirit

FLINT, Mich. — Matthew Menna stopped all 23 shots he faced as the Flint Firebirds shut out the Saginaw Spirit on Wednesday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Ryan Moore had a pair of goals — one shorthanded — as Flint won its first game of the season. Ty Dellandrea and Nicholas Caamano also scored for the Firebirds.

Brendan Bonello made eight saves on 12 shots for Saginaw (0-1-0) in 26:35 of work before being replaced in net by Cameron Lamour who turned aside all 14 shots he faced.

STING 4, KNIGHTS 1

SARNIA, Ont. — Kevin Spinozzi scored twice — including the eventual winner — as the Sting topped London.

Jaden Lindo and Ryan McGregor had the other goals for Sarnia (1-0-0).

Robert Thomas replied for the Knights (0-1-0).
