OHL Roundup: Rangers suffer 1st regulation loss

KINGSTON, Ont. — The Kitchener Rangers’ winning streak has finally come to an end.

Roland McKeown had two goals and an assist as the Kingston Frontenacs halted the Rangers’ 11-game win streak with a 5-3 victory on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Austin Grzenia also scored twice for Kingston (11-5-2), with Spencer Watson adding the other.

Mason John struck twice for Kitchener (13-1-3), which also got a goal from Brian Brosnan.

Lucas Peressini made 31 saves for the Frontenacs, with Luke Opilka turning aside 33-of-38 shots for the Rangers.

Kingston went 1 for 2 with the man advantage while Kitchener was scoreless on two power-play chances.

SPITFIRES 6 OTTERS 4

ERIE, Pa. — Christian Fischer scored a hat trick and added an assist as Windsor got past the Otters.

Bradley Latour had a goal and three assists for the Spitfires (11-4-3), who also got goals from Cole Carter and Jalen Chatfield.

Alex DeBrincat struck twice for Erie (13-2-1), with Christian Girhiny and Erik Cernak adding the others. Dylan Strome tacked on three assists.

ICEDOGS 5 PETES 1

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. — Vince Dunn and Graham Knott had a goal and an assist apiece as the IceDogs won their fifth straight by downing Peterborough.

Brendan Perlini, Christopher Paquette and Jordan Maletta supplied the rest of the Niagara (9-7-1) offence, with Josh Ho-Sang chipping in with three assists.

Eric Cornel had a power-play goal in the first period for the Petes (6-9-3), who lost their third straight.

Peterborough’s Cameron Lizotte received a major penalty and game misconduct for kneeing at 10:48 of the third period.

STEELHEADS 5 WOLVES 1

SUDBURY, Ont. — Damian Bourne and Thomas Lattavo both scored twice as Mississauga topped the Wolves.

Michael McLeod rounded out the attack for the Steelheads (9-8-2).

Patrick Murphy had the lone goal in the second period for Sudbury (5-12-1), which lost its fourth in a row.

SAGINAW, Mich. — Matthew Kreis scored a power-play goal late in the third period as the Spirit edged Oshawa.

Blake Clarke and Devon Paliani had a goal and an assist each for Saginaw (8-7-2), with Artem Artemov adding the other.

Domenic Commisso, Lukas Lofquist and Michael Dal Colle found the back of the net for the Generals (9-8-2).

COLTS 4 GREYHOUNDS 1

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — Kevin Labanc struck twice as Barrie beat the Greyhounds.

Michael Webster and Cordell James also chipped in for the Colts (11-6-0), who won their third in a row.

Tim Gettinger scored in the second period for Sault Ste. Marie (7-9-2).

STORM 5 FIREBIRDS 3

FLINT, Mich. — Tyler Boston had a pair of goals to lead Guelph over the Firebirds.

Tyler Hill, James McEwan and Garrett McFadden had the others for the Storm (2-13-1).

Will Bitten scored once and had two assists for Flint (6-9-1). Nicholas Caamano and Mathieu Henderson rounded out the attack.

Josh Wesley of the Firebirds was assessed a game misconduct after a major penalty for checking to the head at 19:36 of the third period.

OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Santino Centorame scored twice and Damir Sharipzyanov had a goal and two assists as the Attack downed Hamilton.

Justin Brack, Jaden Lindo and Thomas Schemitsch had the others for Owen Sound (9-6-3), which got three assists from Bryson Cianfrone.

Stephen Harper and Mason Marchment scored for the Bulldogs (6-11-0), who dropped their third straight.
