Erie Otters star Alex DeBrincat was forced to the locker room following a collision with Windsor Spitfires winger Jeremiah Addison late in the second period of their 2017 Mastercard Memorial Cup game.
Addison skated into DeBrincat in the Windsor zone and DeBrincat remained on the ice for several moments. The 2016 second-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks was attended to by his team’s medical staff and was able to skate off the ice on his own.
As you can see from the video above, DeBrincat appeared to be winded but it’s unclear what the exact nature of the injury was. Fortunately for DeBrincat and Otters fans, the forward was back on his team’s bench at the start of the third period.
Windsor was up 3-0 at the time with Addison, a 2015 seventh-round selection of the Montreal Canadiens, scoring two of the goals.
