Padakin nets 2 for Hitmen in win over Cougars

CALGARY — Pavel Padakin scored twice as the Calgary Hitmen shut out the Prince George Cougars 3-0 in the lone Western Hockey League game Thursday.

Both of Padakin’s goals came in the second period while Zane Jones added a single in the first period for Calgary (13-6-4).

Hitmen goaltender Chris Driedger finished with 30 saves for the shutout.

At the other end of the ice, Brett Zarowny stopped 28 shots in net for the Cougars (9-14-4).
