SHAWINIGAN, Que. — James Phelan scored 3:03 into overtime as the Shawinigan Cataractes defeated the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 5-4 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Alexis D’Aoust had two goals and two assists for Shawinigan (10-9-2) with Gabriel Slight and Anthony Beauvillier also finding the back of the net in regulation.
Maxime St-Cyr struck twice for the Drakkar (13-5-3) with Luca Ciampini and Jasmin Boutet also chipping in.
Marvin Cupper made 29 saves for the win while Philippe Cadorette turned aside 35 shots in the loss.
Baie-Comeau was 1 for 2 on the power play while the Cataractes were scoreless on seven attempts.
