QMJHL Roundup: Leafs pick Timashov does it again

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Massimo Carozza scored 2:26 into overtime to lift the Quebec Remparts to a 4-3 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs on Thursday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Dmytro Timashov had a goal and an assist for the Remparts (16-11-2), who have won three straight, and Nikolas Brouillard and Yanick Turcotte rounded out the offence.

Joe Veleno, Adam Marsh and Mathieu Joseph scored for Saint John (15-10-2).

Brady Labrecque stopped 31 shots for the win. Marc-Antoine Turcotte made 27 saves in the losing effort.

Quebec was 1 for 4 on the power play while the Sea Dogs scored once on three chances with the man advantage.

ISLANDERS 3 PHOENIX 2

CHARLOTTETOWN — Filip Rydstrom broke a 2-2 tie 11:50 into the third period to hoist the Islanders over Sherbrooke.

Oliver Cooper and Carl Gervais had the other goals for Charlottetown (12-13-3).

Julien Pelletier scored twice for the Phoenix (11-11-5) while Guillaume Gauthier had two assists.

HUSKIES 4 VOLTIGEURS 1

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. — Francis Perron opened the scoring with a short-handed goal and ended it with an empty-netter as the Huskies topped Drummondville for their eighth win in 10 games.

Gabriel Fontaine had a goal and an assist for Rouyn-Noranda (20-3-4) and Allan Caron also scored.

Michael Carcone found the back of the net for the Voltigeurs (14-14-0).
