SHAWINIGAN, Que. — The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies are a win away from claiming the President Cup.

Anthony-John Greer scored the go-ahead goal at 3:46 of the third period as Rouyn-Noranda downed the Shawinigan Cataractes 2-1 on Sunday in Game 3 of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League final.

Antoine Waked also scored for the Huskies, who lead the best-of-seven set 3-0 and can clinch the championship Tuesday when Shawinigan hosts Game 4. Whichever team wins the series earns the right to represent the QMJHL at the 2016 Memorial Cup, which begins May 20 in Red Deer, Alta.

Anthony Beauvillier opened the scoring at 5:26 of the first period for the Cataractes.

Rouyn-Noranda goaltender Chase Marchand made 22 saves for the win and continued his hot play through the post-season. He is 14-3 and has a 1.16 goals-against average and .954 save percentage in 17 playoff games.

Shawinigan’s Philippe Cadorette gave his club a chance to win, stopping 39-of-41 shots in a losing cause.

The Huskies went 1 for 4 on the power play while the Cataractes failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.
