QMJHL: Gauthier leads Oceanic over Cataractes

RIMOUSKI, Que. – Philippe Desrosiers made 24 saves as the Rimouski Oceanic shut out the Shawinigan Cataractes 3-0 on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Frederik Gauthier scored twice — once into an empty net — to lead the Oceanic (45-16-5) offence. Alexis Loiseau had a goal as well.

Marvin Cupper stopped 33-of-35 shots for Shawinigan (38-25-3).

Rimouski went 2 for 6 on the power play, while the Cataractes could not connect on their four man advantages.
