QMJHL: Hladonik keeps Armada hot with SO win over Olympiques

BOISBRIAND, Que. – Jan Hladonik was the lone scorer in the shootout as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada edged the Gatineau Olympiques 2-1 on Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Kyle Havlena scored for the Armada (7-1-0) in regulation time. Francis Leclerc made 17 saves for the win.

Jeffrey Durocher scored for the Olympiques (3-2-2) and Tristan Berube turned aside 29 shots.

Blainville-Boisbriand went 0 for 5 on the power play and the Olympiques were 1 for 2 with the man advantage.

PHOENIX 8 VOLTIGEURS 4

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Mathieu Olivier scored twice, including the winner, as Sherbrooke subdued the Voltigeurs.

Nicolas Poulin and Marek Zachar had two goals apiece for the Phoenix (5-3-3), while Yaroslav Alexeyev and Yann-Felix Lapointe chipped in as well.

Xavier Bernard struck twice for Drummondville (6-3-0), while Morgan Adams-Moisan and Robert Lynch rounded out the attack.

SAGUENEENS 5 DRAKKAR 2

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — Olivier Galipeau had a pair of goals to lead Chicoutimi past the Drakkar.

Kevin Klima put away the winner for the Sagueneens (3-5-1) at 11:57 of the second period. Liam Stevens and Felix-Antoine Marcotty also scored.

Jordan Martel and Bradley Lalonde scored for Baie-Comeau (5-5-0).

MOOSEHEADS 9 SCREAMING EAGLES 5

HALIFAX — Filip Zadina scored twice as the Mooseheads outlasted Cape Breton in a high-scoring game.

Justin Barron had the winner for Halifax (5-3-2) in the final minute of the second period. Connor Moynihan, Benoit-Olivier Groulx, Raphael Lavoie, Maxime Fortier, Joel Bishop and Otto Somppi rounded out the attack.

Jordan Ty Fournier led the Screaming Eagles (6-5-0) with two goals. Phelix Martineau, Drake Batherson and Egor Sokolov also scored.

WILDCATS 3 SEA DOGS 2

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Dylan Seitz’s second-period goal was the eventual winner as Moncton held on for a win over the Sea Dogs.

Nicholas Welsh and Mika Cyr also scored for the Wildcats (7-1-2).

Radim Salda supplied the offence for Saint John (3-6-1).

ISLANDERS 4 TITAN 3 (SO)

CHARLOTTETOWN — Keith Getson had a shootout goal as the Islanders slipped past Acadie-Bathurst.

Sam King scored twice for Charlottetown (3-6-1) and Adam Marsh had the other regulation-time goal.

Liam Murphy, Jeffrey Truchon-Viel and Antoine Morand scored for the Titan (4-3-4).

CATARACTES 4 TIGRES 2

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Antoine Demers’s short-handed goal in the second period stood as the winner as Shawinigan upset the Tigres.

Tommy Cardinal, Samuel Asselin and Samuel Blier also scored for the Cataractes (2-7-1).

Jeremie Beaudin and Jimmy Huntington found the back of the net for Victoriaville (5-3-1.

FOREURS 5 HUSKIES 4 (OT)

VAL-D’OR, Que. — Maxim Mizyurin finished off his hat trick with an overtime goal as the Foreurs eked out a win over Rouyn-Noranda.

Adam Cheezo and Jeremy Michel had goals in regulation time for Val-d’Or (4-4-1).

Patrik Hrehorcak, Felix Bibeau, Rafael Harvey-Pinard and William Cyr scored for the Huskies (5-2-2).
