BOISBRIAND, Que. — Philippe Sanche scored the winner in triple overtime as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada edged Val-d’Or 3-2 on Sunday to upset the Foreurs in Game 6 of their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League first-round playoff series.
Joel Teasdale had a pair of goals in regulation for the Armada, including one on the power play.
Blainville-Boisbriand, which took the series 4-2, entered the post-season as the 13th seed with the Foreurs holding the No. 4 position.
Jan Mandat opened the scoring in the second before tying the game at 2-2 early in the third for Val-d’Or.
Samuel Montembeault made 54 saves for the win in net while logging 112:26 of playing time. Etienne Montpetit turned away 48 shots in defeat.
The Armada converted once on five power plays while the Foreurs were scoreless on their lone opportunity with the man advantage.

CHARLOTTETOWN — Daniel Sprong had two goals and an assist as the Islanders doubled up Rimouski in Game 6 to win their first-round series 4-2.
Samuel Blais and Mitchell Balmas also scored for Charlottetown, which got two assists from Kameron Kielly. Calgary Flames draft pick Mason McDonald made 41 saves for the win in net.
Antoine Dufort-Plante and Dominic Cormier chipped in for the Oceanic. Alexandre Lagace kicked out 32-of-36 shots in defeat.
