QMJHL Roundup: Brassard solid in Mooseheads win

HALIFAX — Eric Brassard stopped all 31 shots he faced as the Halifax Mooseheads shut out the Quebec Remparts 2-0 on Thursday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Connor Moynihan scored the power-play winner for Halifax (15-23-6) with 45 seconds left in regulation time. Andrew Shewfelt then added an empty-net goal 26 seconds later for some insurance.

Callum Booth made 22 saves on 23 shots for Quebec (23-16-4), which has lost four straight.

The Mooseheads went 1 for 2 on the power play, while the Remparts could not score on their three man advantages.

GATINEAU, Que. — Dennis Yan scored in overtime as Shawinigan slipped past the Olympiques.

Cavan Fitzgerald had a second-period goal for the Cataractes (28-11-3), who have won six straight.

Alex Dostie had the first goal of the game for Gatineau (28-12-3).

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — William Poirier struck twice as Drummondville sank the Drakkar.

Jeremy Way-Gagnon and Kevin Laliberte also scored for the Voltigeurs (20-23-1).

Matteo Pietroniro replied for Baie-Comeau (7-31-3).
