QMJHL Roundup: Desautels, Drakkar down Phoenix

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. – Matthieu Desautels struck twice as the Baie-Comeau Drakkar downed the visiting Sherbrooke Phoenix 5-2 on Monday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Fabrizio Ricci and Jordan Martel had a goal and two assists apiece for the last-place Drakkar (12-49-5) while Vincent Deslauriers added a goal and a helper of his own.

Daniel Audette and Carl Neill found the back of the net for the Phoenix (24-33-9).

Baie-Comeau’s Bo Taylor made 30 saves for the win. Evan Fitzpatrick started in net for Sherbrooke and allowed four goals on 20 shots before giving way to Charles-Antoine Poirier-Turcot, who made 13 saves in 26:27 of relief.

The Drakkar went 3 for 6 on the power play while the Phoenix failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.

Sherbrooke winger Trevor Stacey was ejected at the nine-minute mark of the second period after being handed a game misconduct for checking to the head.
