QMJHL Roundup: Titan top Wildcats, Remparts lose

MONCTON, N.B. — Jordan Maher scored 27 seconds into overtime to lift the Acadie-Bathurst Titan to a 4-3 victory over the Moncton Wildcats on Sunday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Mark Trickett, Christophe Boivin, and Guillaume Brisebois, with a goal and an assist, supplied the rest of the offence for Acadie-Bathurst (10-15-2).

Cameron Askew led the Wildcats (16-7-3) with a goal and two helpers. Adam Holwell and Stephen Johnson also scored.

Reilly Pickard stopped 27 shots for the win. Sebastien Dupre made 28 saves in the losing effort.

The Titan were 1 for 4 on the power play while Moncton scored twice on five opportunities with the man advantage.

OLYMPIQUES 3 ARMADA 2

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Yakov Trenin broke a tie with a power-play goal 10:31 into the third period and Gatineau held on to beat the Armada.

Alexandre Alain and Vitalii Abramov also scored for the Olympiques (16-8-2).

Philippe Sanche and Kristian Pospisil supplied the offence for Blainville-Boisbriand (9-14-3).

FOREURS 5 REMPARTS 1

QUEBEC CITY — Jan Mandat scored shorthanded 2:03 into the first period and four different Val-d’Or skaters found the back of the net en route to victory over the Remparts.

William Gigan, Julien Gauthier, Nicolas Aube-Kubel and Olivier Galipeau, into an empty net late in the third period, rounded out the Foreurs’ (17-7-3) attack.

Auguste Impose had the lone goal for Quebec (14-11-2).

CATARACTES 3 OCEANIC 2 (OT)

RIMOUSKI, Que. — Samuel Giard scored a power-play goal 3:12 into overtime to lead Shawinigan over the Oceanic.

Alexis D’Aoust had a goal and two assists for the Cataractes (19-6-1) while Gabriel Slight added one goal and one helper.

Dylan Montcalm and Hunter Moreau scored for Rimouski (14-9-2).

TIGRES 3 PHOENIX 2

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Samuel Blais scored the third straight Victoriaville goal, on a power play in the third period, to complete a comeback over the Phoenix.

Maxime Comtois had a goal and an assist for the Tigres (12-10-3) and Carl Marois also scored.

Nicolas Poulin had back-to-back goals to give Sherbrooke (11-10-5) an early 2-0 lead before Victoriaville stormed back.
