QMJHL Roundup: Mooseheads rout Eagles

HALIFAX – Maxime Fortier and Cavan Fitzgerald had two goals each as the Halifax Mooseheads routed the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 7-2 on Tuesday night in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Taylor Ford, Joel Bishop and Vincent Watt also scored for Halifax (10-14-4). Eric Brassard made 25 saves for the win.

Anthony Sorrentino and Pierre-Luc Dubois both had power-play goals for Cape Breton (13-12-3). Kyle Jessiman started in net, stopping 27-of-32 shots before being replaced by Alexandre Belanger who turned aside 5-of-6 shots.

Fitzgerald scored on the power play and added a short-handed empty-net goal in the third period.

Both teams went 2 for 6 on the power play.
