QMJHL Roundup: Olympiques cruise past Remparts

11 players finished with at least a point as the Gatineau Olympiques easily cruised past the Québec Remparts 6-2 on Friday night.

BATHURST, N.B. — Clark Bishop scored twice and added an assist as the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles routed the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 7-1 on Friday night in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Maxim Lazarev added a pair of goals for the Screaming Eagles (35-24-6), who won their fourth straight. Loik Leveille, Pierre-Luc Dubois and Michael Joly also chipped in.

Dawson Theede responded late in the third period for Acadie-Bathurst (25-33-6).

Alexandre Belanger made 29 saves for the win in net. Alex Kelly kicked out 21-of-27 shots in 40 minutes for the Titan. Reilly Pickard went the rest of the way, stopping 17 shots.

Nicolas Dumulong of the Titan received a minor for slashing, an aggressor infraction, a game misconduct for abuse of officials and a game misconduct for his second fight of the game at 13:33 of the third period.

Cape Breton was 1 for 8 on the power play while Acadie-Bathurst was scoreless on eight attempts with the man advantage.

WILDCATS 6, MOOSEHEADS 2

HALIFAX — Conor Garland had two goals and two assists to lead Moncton past the Mooseheads.

Kelly Klima, Stephen Johnson, Lane Cormier and Cody Donaghey rounded out the attack for the Wildcats (36-19-10). Zack MacEwen tacked on three assists.

Ilya Putintsev and Connor Moynihan scored for Halifax (20-38-7).

FOREURS 4, TIGRES 1

VAL-D’OR, Que. — Anthony Beauregard and Julien Gauthier scored in the first period as the Foreurs toppled Victoriaville.

Francois Beauchemin and Samuel Hould supplied the rest of the offence for Val-d’Or (48-13-4), which got three assists from Nicolas Aube-Kubel.

Nicolas Latulippe had the lone goal for the Tigres (30-28-7).

VOLTIGEURS 4, ARMADA 1

BOISBRIAND, Que. — Alex Barre-Boulet and Charley Graaskamp had a goal and an assist each as Drummondville snapped a four-game slide with a win over the Armada.

Gabriel Slight and Sergei Boikov rounded out the attack for the Voltigeurs (27-36-2).

TJ Melancon scored for Blainville-Boisbriand (24-32-9).

PHOENIX 6, DRAKKAR 1

SHERBROOKE, Que. — Kay Schweri had two goals and an assist as the Phoenix downed Baie-Comeau.

Hugo Roy also scored twice for Sherbrooke (24-31-9). Guillaume Gauthier and Anthony Chapados rounded out the attack.

Matteo Pietroniro had the lone goal for the Drakkar (10-49-5), who lost their sixth straight.

OLYMPIQUES 6, REMPARTS 2

QUEBEC CITY — Yakov Trenin scored on a penalty shot in a three-goal third period for Gatineau as it beat the Remparts.

Gabriel Bilodeau and Alex Dostie also found the back of the net in the third for the Olympiques (45-17-3), who won their fourth straight. Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau, Samuel Tremblay and Yan Pavel Laplante had the others.

Louis-Filip Cote and Alexandre Sills chipped in for Quebec (28-30-7).

Yannick Turcotte of the Remparts received a game misconduct for charging in the third period.

ISLANDERS 5, SEA DOGS 3

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Bradley Kennedy struck twice and Daniel Sprong added four helpers as Charlottetown beat the Sea Dogs for its fourth straight win.

Samuel Blais, Alexis Vanier and Filip Rydstrom also scored for the Islanders (32-26-7), with Filip Chlapik chipping in with three assists.

Sam Povorozniouk, Matthew Highmore and Bokondji Imama had goals for Saint John (41-18-5).
