Remparts blank Huskies to push streak to six

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. — Callum Booth stopped all 33 shots he faced for his first-career shutout as the Quebec Remparts blanked the host Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 3-0 on Sunday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Mikhail Grigorenko, Fabrice Herzog and Olivier Archambault scored for the Remparts (29-12-8), who extended their win streak to six games.

Rouyn-Noranda’s (26-17-5) Francis Perron led his club with six shots on net while Marcus Power chipped in with five shots on Booth.

Alexandre Belanger turned aside 18-of-20 shots for the Huskies, who dropped their fourth game in a row.

SCREAMING EAGLES 6 SAGUENEENS 3

SYDNEY, N.S. — Charles-Eric Legare scored twice as Cape Breton doubled Chicoutimi for the Sagueneens’ third straight loss.

Kyle Farrell, Timothe Simard, Guillaume Gauthier and Jeremy Beaudry had a goal each for the Screaming Eagles (26-20-3).

Laurent Dauphin scored twice for the Sagueneens (24-25-1), with Janne Puhakka chipping in a single.

Cape Breton’s Zachary Fortin and Chicoutimi’s Julio Billia each made 34 saves.

SEA DOGS 4 TITAN 0

SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Sebastien Auger stopped 32 shots as the lowly Sea Dogs shut out Acadie-Bathurst.

Oliver Cooper scored a pair of power-play goals for Saint John (15-29-4), while Matthew Highmore and Nicolas Hebert added singles.

Jacob Brennan made 26 saves in the Titan’s (17-28-5) net.

Saint John attacked with the power play, finishing 3 for 5 while Acadie-Bathurst was blanked on four attempts.

DRAKKAR 4 WILDCATS 2

MONCTON, N.B. — Philippe Cadorette only had to make 18 saves as Baie-Comeau doubled up the Wildcats for its eighth win in a row.

Jeremy Gregoire, Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau, Charles Hudon and Frederic Gamelin supplied the offence for the Drakkar (33-12-4).

Conor Garland scored once for Moncton (25-24-2) and also assisted on Christophe Lalonde’s goal.

Alex Dubeau turned away 30-of-34 shots for the Wildcats.

VOLTIGEURS 6 ISLANDERS 0

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Charles-David Beaudoin scored three times and set up one more as the Voltigeurs handed Charlottetown its seventh loss in a row.

Christophe Lalancette, Joey Ratelle and Matthew Boudens also scored for Drummondville (30-16-3) and Louis-Phillip Guindon made 14 saves for the shutout.

Julien Avon led all Islander (17-28-5) skaters with three shots in net.

Charlottetown’s Eric Brassard kicked out 47-of-53 shots in a losing cause.

OLYMPIQUES 4 CATARACTES 3

SHAWINIGAN, Que. — Vaclav Karabacek had a pair of goals as Gatineau held on to defeat the Cataractes.

Simon Tardif-Richard and Vincent Dunn also scored for the Olympiques (29-17-3), who led 3-1 early in the second period, and Alexandre Carrier tacked on two assists.

Shawinigan (12-30-7) got goals from Ilya Zinoviev, Felix-Antoine Bergeron and Dylan Labbe.

Gatineau’s Robert Steeves made 35 saves for the win as Storm Phaneuf stopped 32-of-36 shots for the Cataractes.
