MONTREAL — The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles will pick first overall in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League draft.

The Screaming Eagles won the draft lottery that was held Thursday and will get first choice at the draft on June 8 in Chicoutimi.

Cape Breton finished last overall this season, one point behind the defending Memorial Cup champion Shawinigan Cataractes.

“We have been in the League for 16 seasons, we have never not made the playoffs (before), so it gives us an extra motivation for next season,” said Cape Breton governor Richard Morency.
