Sens’ Da Costa named AHL player of the week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Binghamton Senators forward Stephane Da Costa was named American Hockey League player of the week Monday after leading his team to three victories last week.

Da Costa, a third-year pro from Paris, France, had seven points (two goals and five assists) over the stretch.

The 24-year-old centre has 12 points (3-9) in 10 games with Binghamton this season. He also played in four games for the NHL’s Ottawa Senators but did not record a point.

Da Costa has seven points (4-3) in 39 career NHL games. He was signed as a free agent by the Senators in March 2011.
