In celebration of Friday the 13th, here are the CHL’s 13 “unluckiest” teams. Thanks to CHLstats.com, ontariohockeyleague.com, whl.ca and theqmjhl.ca for the numbers.

13. Hamilton Bulldogs, 97.742 PDO
The relocated Hamilton squad is hardly “bullish” when it comes to saves and goals. The shooting percentage is right around league average, but the save percentage is the OHL’s worst.

12. Acadie-Bathurst, Titan 97.739 PDO
They take a lot of shots, but have a bottom-five SH% to go with a bottom-five SV%.

11. Sudbury Wolves, 97.724 PDO
To chalk Sudbury’s .306 points percentage up to bad luck might be a bit forgiving. Bottom of the barrel in the entire country when it comes to Estimated Fenwick Close at 40.202 percent, the Wolves just don’t generate enough offence or stop enough pucks.

10. Calgary Hitmen, 97.458 PDO
They’re not hitting the mark on offence enough, but the main issue is in goal. The Hitmen give up the fourth-fewest shots per game in the WHL, but have the third-worst SV%.

9. Edmonton Oil Kings, 97.266 PDO
Poor shooting + average goaltending = bad PDO.

8. Halifax Mooseheads, 97.115 PDO
These are not the heady days of Nathan MacKinnon, Jonathan Drouin, Nikolaj Ehlers and Zach Fucale. Would help if Timo Meier was closer to the his 13.9 SH% from last season. Right now he’s at eight percent.

7. Kootenay Ice, 97.107 PDO
After years of being mediocre, the Ice are in full rebuild, regularly dressing six rookies. The .263 Pts% is ugly.

6. Vancouver Giants, 96.926 PDO
The best thing to happen in Vancouver this season will be the CHL Top Prospects Game. Tyler Benson will be there, but it would sure be nice if he could get off the schnide. The arrival of Daniel Wappel might help settle things down in goal.

5. Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, 96.847 PDO
What a difference a year makes. They Greyhounds were league heavyweights last season, but the depth that got them there is gone and now they can’t catch many breaks at either end of the ice.

4. Medicine Hat Tigers, 96.681 PDO
The Tigers SH% isn’t bad, but they have the second-lowest SV% in the entire country.

3. Tri-City Americans, 96.178 PDO
See above. Only the Tigers have a worse SV% in the Dub.

2. Guelph Storm, 95.535 PDO
When you’re only scoring on 6.08 percent of your shots, this is what happens.

1. Baie-Comeau Drakkar, 92.35 PDO
With the third-lowest SH% in the country and the lowest SV% by a mile, the Drakkar are the CHL’s unluckiest team.
