WHL Roundup: Brooks has four points to lead Pats over Hurricanes

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – Adam Brooks had a goal and three assists and Austin Wagner struck twice as the Regina Pats downed the Lethbridge Hurricanes 7-2 on Saturday night in Western Hockey League action.

Filip Ahl and Chase Harrison had a goal and two assists apiece for the Pats (6-0-3). Jake Leschyshyn and Sam Steel added the others.

Calen Addison and Ryley Lindgren scored for Lethbridge (5-3-2).

Tyler Brown made 33 saves for the win in net. Stuart Skinner took the loss after turning away 37-of-43 shots in 50:46. Ryan Gilchrist finished the game and stopped five shots.

Regina was 1 for 3 on the power play while the Hurricanes went 1 for 8.

SILVERTIPS 3 THUNDERBIRDS 2

EVERETT, Wash. — Riley Sutter struck twice on the power play as the Silvertips topped Seattle.

Bryce Kindopp also scored for Everett (8-1-1).

Sami Moilanen and Turner Ottenbreit responded for the Thunderbirds (2-4-1).

BRONCOS 5 ROCKETS 1

KELOWNA, B.C. — Tyler Steenbergen had a pair of goals on the power play to lead Swift Current over the Rockets.

Colby Sissons, Glenn Gawdin and Aleksi Heponiemi rounded out the attack for the Broncos (7-2-1).

Tomas Soustal found the back of the net for Kelowna (3-7-0).

REBELS 2 ICE 1 (OT)

CRANBROOK, B.C. — Colton Bobyk scored the winner at 4:43 of extra time as Red Deer edged the Ice.

Evan Polei had a power-play goal for the Rebels (5-3-2).

Keenan Taphorn chipped in for Kootenay (1-5-4).

GIANTS 2 TIGERS 1 (OT)

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. — Radovan Bondra scored the winner in overtime as Vancouver beat the Tigers.

Ty Ronning tied the game at 1-1 for the Giants (5-7-0).

David Quenneville had a power-play goal for Medicine Hat (6-3-1).

WHEAT KINGS 4 RAIDERS 3 (OT)

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. — Ty Lewis scored the winner two minutes into extra time as Brandon edged the Raiders.

Reid Duke, Garrett Sambrook and Tanner Kaspick, on the power play, supplied the rest of the Wheat Kings (3-3-2) offence.

Simon Stransky had two goals and an assist for Prince Albert (3-5-1).

WINTERHAWKS 3 CHIEFS 2 (SO)

SPOKANE, Wash. — Caleb Jones scored the only goal of the shootout as Portland toppled the Chiefs.

Cody Glass tied the game at 2-2 with a goal at 16:55 of the third. Ryan Hughes had the other for the Winterhawks (8-3-0).

Koby Morrisseau and Curtis Miske found the back of the net for Spokane (2-4-2).

COUGARS 5 AMERICANS 2

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Jesse Gabrielle and Brogan O’Brien had a goal and an assist each while Sam Ruopp tacked on three helpers as Prince George got past the Americans.

Bartek Bison, Yan Khomenko and Justin Almeida also scored for the Cougars (10-2-0).

Vladislav Lukin and Morgan Geekie supplied the offence for Tri-City (5-4-0).
