BRANDON, Man. — Chad Butcher scored once and set up two more and Mark Rassell had a pair of goals as the Medicine Hat Tigers downed the Brandon Wheat Kings 5-3 on Wednesday in Western Hockey League action.
David Quenneville and Steven Owre also scored as Tigers (18-5-1) extended their win streak to seven games.
Nick Schneider made 21 saves for the victory.
Reid Duke struck twice and Stelio Matteos had the other for the Wheat Kings (12-8-3), who had their five-game win streak snapped.
Jordan Papirny kicked out 32-of-36 shots in a losing cause.
Medicine Hat went 1 for 5 on the power play while Brandon scored once on four chances with the man advantage.

CRANBROOK, B.C. — Noah Philp scored once in regulation and again in the shootout as Kootenay slipped past Red Deer.
Zak Zobrosky led the Ice (5-13-6) with a goal and two assists while Barrett Sheen, Matt Alfaro and Cale Fleury added the others. Payton Lee made 38 saves for the win.
Evan Polei, Jeff de Wit, Brandon Hagel, Akash Bains and Michael Spacek supplied the offence for the Rebels (11-10-4). Riley Lamb stopped 34 shots in defeat.
Polei was handed a major and game misconduct 1:06 into the extra period for charging.
