WHL Roundup: Calgary extends win streak to five

CALGARY — Defenceman Jake Bean scored twice and set up one more as the Calgary Hitmen extended their win streak to five games on Sunday with a 5-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades in Western Hockey League action.

Michael Zipp, Jakob Stukel and Layne Bensmiller also struck for the Hitmen (14-10-1) while Radel Fazleev tacked on three assists.

Connor Gay and Libor Hajek scored for the Blades (9-10-3).

Calgary’s Kyle Dumba made 23 saves for the win as Brock Hamm kicked out 27-of-32 shots for Saskatoon.

The Hitmen went 1 for 5 on the power play while the Blades failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
