WHL Roundup: Rebels obliterate Wheat Kings

RED DEER, Alta. — Jake DeBrusk scored three times and assisted on two other goals as the Red Deer Rebels downed the Brandon Wheat Kings 10-0 on Saturday night in Western Hockey League action.

Rylan Toth stopped all 30 shots he faced for the shutout.

Grayson Pawlenchuk had a pair of goals while Brandon Hagel, Ivan Nikolishin and Adam Helewka each had a goal and three assists for Red Deer (26-13-0). Nelson Nogier scored once and added two assists as Conner Bleackley had the other.

Jordan Papirny took the loss after turning aside 11-of-16 shots in 14:05. Logan Thompson came on in relief and made 14 saves for the Wheat Kings (23-12-4).

The Rebels scored once on three power plays as Brandon was 0 for 4.

WARRIORS 4 ICE 3 (OT)

MOOSE JAW, Sask. -- Dryden Hunt scored his second goal of the game 39 seconds into overtime as the Warriors edged Kootenay.

Tanner Jeannot and Jayden Halbgewachs had goals in regulation for Moose Jaw (19-14-5), which snapped a two-game skid.

Zak Zborosky scored a hat trick for the Ice (6-31-3), who dropped their 16th in a row.

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. -- Giorgio Estephan scored the eventual winner in the third period as the Hurricanes edged Calgary.

Arvin Atwal, Ryan Vandervlis and Brayden Burke also had goals for Lethbridge (27-12-0).

Pavel Karnaukhov struck twice for the Hitmen (25-14-2). Andrew Fyten had the other.

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. -- Cole Sanford struck twice as the Tigers got past Edmonton.

Mason Shaw had a goal and two assists for Medicine Hat (14-20-4), which also had goals from Tyler Preziuso and Matt Bradley.

KAMLOOPS, B.C. -- Montreal Canadiens prospect Noah Juulsen scored 46 seconds into overtime as Everett slipped past the Blazers.

Carson Stadnyk, Matt Fonteyne and Brandon Ralph had goals in regulation for the Silvertips (22-12-2).

Matt Revel, Collin Shirley and Deven Sideroff supplied the offence for Kamloops (18-14-5).

PORTLAND, ORE. -- Jack Dougherty and Dominic Turgeon scored in the shootout as the Winterhawks edged Spokane.

Keegan Iverson had a pair of goals in regulation for Portland (19-17-1). Rihards Bukarts, Blake Heinrich and Alex Overhardt supplied the rest of the offence.

Evan Fiala, Keanu Yamamoto, Wyatt Johnson, Kailer Yamamoto and Dominic Zwerger found the back of the net for the Chiefs (19-14-5).

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. -- Thomas Foster had two power-play goals and an assist as Vancouver topped the Cougars.
