WHL Roundup: Halbgewachs scores OT winner as Warriors edge Oil Kings

EDMONTON — Jayden Halbgewachs scored his second goal of the game 26 seconds into overtime as the Moose Jaw Warriors downed the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-3 in Western Hockey League action on Thursday.

Barrett Sheen and Noah Gregor also scored for the Warriors (23-5-2).

Brett Kemp, Tomas Soustal and Colton Kehler scored for the Oil Kings (6-19-3).

Moose Jaw’s Brayden Burke was given a match penalty for major-kneeing at 8:38 of the first period.

Brody Willms turned away 31 shots for the Warriors. Travis Child made 33 saves for Edmonton.

Both teams went 1 for 3 on the power play.
