REGINA — Jayce Hawryluk and Ivan Provorov had two goals and an assist each as the Brandon Wheat Kings toppled the Regina Pats 8-1 on Sunday in Western Hockey League action.
Macoy Erkamps, Tim McGauley, Reid Duke and Jordan Thomson also scored for the Wheat Kings (43-18-6) while Tanner Kaspick, John Quenneville and Nolan Patrick added two helpers apiece.
Cole Sanford put the Pats (31-27-8) on the board at 16:15 of the third period when it was already 7-0 Brandon.
Wheat Kings netminder Jordan Papirny made 30 saves for the win. Tyler Brown started in net for Regina and allowed three goals on nine shots in a period of work. Jordan Hollett stopped 36-of-41 shots in relief.
Brandon went 1 for 5 on the power play while the Pats scored once on four chances with the man advantage.
REBELS 4, HITMEN 3
CALGARY — Jake DeBrusk had a goal and an assist and Trevor Martin made 23 saves as Red Deer slipped past the Hitmen.
Colton Bobyk, Evan Polei and Luke Philp also found the back of the net for the Rebels (41-22-3), who are on a four-game win streak.
Travis Sanheim, Carsen Twarynski and Jorday Stallard scored for Calgary (36-25-4), which got a 22-save outing from Cody Porter.
THUNDERBIRDS 4, AMERICANS 0
KENNEWICK, Wash. — Logan Flodell only had to make 17 saves as Seattle blanked Tri-City for its eighth win in a row.
Donovan Nuels and Cavin Leth scored 25 second apart in the second to make it 2-0 for the Thunderbirds (40-23-3). Alexander True and Andreas Schumacher struck in the third.
Nicholas Sanders kicked out 31-of-34 shots for the Americans (31-32-3).
