WHL Roundup: Red Deer shuts out Saskatoon

SASKATOON — Ivan Nikolishin had two goals and an assist, Rylan Toth stopped all 27 shots he faced, and the Red Deer Rebels shut out the Saskatoon Blades 5-0 for their fifth-straight win on Wednesday in Western Hockey League action.

Adam Helewka scored once and added two assists for Red Deer (29-13-0). Haydn Fleury had a goal and an assist while Austin Pratt had the other.

Brock Hamm kicked out 33 shots for the Blades (15-22-3).

The Rebels scored twice on four power plays as Saskatoon went scoreless on five opportunities.

HURRICANES 5 BRONCOS 2

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — Giorgio Estephan struck twice as the Hurricanes toppled Swift Current.

Jordy Bellerive, Ryley Lindgren and Justin Gutierrez also scored for Lethbridge (28-12-0).

Kade Jensen and Arthur Miller found the back of the net for the Broncos (12-23-5).

EDMONTON — Brett Pollock had a goal and two assists as the Oil Kings got past Vancouver.

Brandon Baddock and Lane Bauer supplied the rest of the offence for Edmonton (17-20-4).

Thomas Foster scored for the Giants (15-21-5).

COUGARS 4 BLAZERS 3 (SO)

KAMLOOPS, B.C. — Brad Morrison scored the only goal in the shootout as Prince George edged the Blazers.

Chase Witala, Jansen Harkins and Kody McDonald had goals in regulation for the Cougars (24-14-2).

Collin Shirley chipped in with two goals and an assist for Kamloops (18-14-6). Deven Sideroff also found the back of the net.

ROYALS 6 AMERICANS 2

VICTORIA — Alex Forsberg scored a hat trick as the Royals downed Tri-City to snap a three-game losing skid.

Tyler Soy had a goal and two assists for Victoria (24-14-4). Jack Walker and Logan Fisher added the others.

Nolan Yaremko and Morgan Geekie had goals for the Americans (17-21-2).
