LANGLEY, B.C. — Ty Ronning scored his second goal at 1:42 of overtime as the Vancouver Giants edged the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.
David Tendeck gave Ronning a chance to play hero by stopping 49-of-50 shots for Vancouver (29-17-8).
Noah Philp was the only Seattle (27-18-8) skater to beat Tendeck. Liam Hughes made 19 saves in a losing cause.
Both teams went 0 for 1 on the power play.
