Alex Burrows released from Calgary hospital

A day suffering an apparent broken rib, Vancouver Canucks forward Alex Burrows has been released from a Calgary hospital on Wednesday.

Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports tweeted on Tuesday that Burrows had suffered the injury during the Canucks’ morning skate. Sportsnet’s Mark Spector later explained that Burrows was wheeled out of Vancouver’s dressing room on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance.

The Canucks lost in Game 4 in their Western Conference quarter-final series to the Calgary Flames and now trail 3-1.

Vancouver will look to avoid elimination Thursday night when they host the Flames in Game 5.
